April Ross
April Ross was one of just a handful of women beach volleyball stars who won medals at several Olympics. Alix klineman, who is competing for the first time at Tokyo's Olympic Games and will attempt to win her third medal. Ross's goal is to win her first Olympic Gold. With her age of 39, this may be her final chance to take home the Olympic gold. Nevertheless, she remains convinced of winning top awards. Ross is born in the year 1982. Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents as well as a her sister. Ross played in numerous sports during her time at Newport Harbor High School. She competed in basketball and track in addition to her volleyball skills in the indoors in her time as a college athlete. She clearly was the top in the game of indoor volleyball. Her college biography states that she played outside of the hitter middle blocker, and setter during her volleyball career in high school. As a tribute to her efforts, she received the Gatorade Award for National Player 1999. In 2000, she was awarded the Orange County Athlete of the of the year for volleyball. Ross and Klineman began the partnership in 2017, However, Ross had been a beach-scene celebrity for a long time prior to. She's won big tournaments twice with different partners. The other is an icon of the world of volleyball. The pair teamed with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and was also Klineman's personal trainer. Together with Kessy Ross, she was a major force on the international circuit winning a world title in 2009. They took home a Silver medal during the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. They were knocked out of the gold medal by the legendary group comprising Misty and Kerri Walsh (Jennings). As fate would have it Ross turned out to be Walsh Jennings' new partner when May-Treanor retired. They won bronze in beach volleyball during the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross played for the Trojans of USC throughout her college years before becoming a professional. Her time at USC was one to remember. When she was a freshman in 2000, her play earned her the Pac-10 as well as NCAA the Freshman of the Year award. Additionally, she was a key player to help the Trojans make the Final Four. In her sophomore season, she experienced a terrible personal loss, yet managed to earn the honor of being named an All-American. During her final two seasons as a member of the Trojans in the program, she led them to success by winning two successive national titles. The individual accomplishments of her have established her place as a legendary volleyball player. She was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the best female college player. Ross was a USC international relations student was a star in volleyball. Unfortunately, Ross mother Margie was not able to witness Ross rise to the top levels of beach volleyball stardom. Ross lost her mother to breast cancer in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. She continues to hold her lost parent near and dear. In addition, Margie continues to be an encouragement for her on the beaches and throughout life.
